In UK cinemas for one night only, football documentary One Night in Turin takes a vibrant and passionate look at the World Cup in Italy 1990, a tournament where England reached the semifinals through a series of heroic performances.

The main bulk of Stuart Hancock’s epic orchestral score for the film depicts the drama of the classic semi-final between England and West Germany. Ingeniously, Hancock makes use of Puccini’s famous ‘Nessun Dorma’ aria from Turandot, sung with amazing spirit by “the operatic voice of sport,” tenor Sean Ruane. Our release of the score, which runs just under 20 minutes, is a special project for us. Normally, we do not release scores that are this short in duration, but in this case we just had to.

Hancock’s music is absolutely brilliant, the new recording of ‘Nessun Dorma’ breathtaking and the performance by the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra extraordinary.

Our release of the download EP (priced at $5.99) co-incides with the UK DVD release of the film.
