MovieScore Media latest documentary score, Heartbound, finds love in the most unlikely of places. The film follows acclaimed filmmaker Janus Metz and his anthropologist wife, Sine Plambech as they document a most unusual tradition in the small northern region of Jutland, Denmark. Here they find over 900 Thai women who are married to Danish men, a trend that started some 25 years ago when a former sex worker from Thailand married a Jutland native and has since helped lonely local men and impoverished women from her village find someone to marry and share life with.

“This score means a lot to me. In 2007, just when I started out composing music for film, I wrote the music for the two prequels of this feature documentary called Love on Delivery and Ticket to Paradise. Since then I have written a lot of music to different types of films. When Janus one day called me and asked me to write the music for the sequel on this story I just said yes! – To have the chance to ten years later, set the musical narrative for this emphatic and epic story, is something that I am really fortunate to be a part of. The music truly reflects all the different emotions that the characters go through in this epic journey of life. In another way it illustrates all that I am not able to express in words about this story.”

Uno Helmersson was born in the village of Botsmark in Sweden in 1977. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm in 2006 and has since then worked as composer in the international film and television industry. His credits include contributions to the score of the highly acclaimed television series The Bridge and Armadillo, a multiple award-winning documentary about the war in Afghanistan. More recently his work was featured in the Department Q films The Keeper of Lost Causes and The Absent One – these collaborations with Johan Söderqvist and Patrik Andrén have been released by MovieScore Media. His latest releases with the label include The Lion Woman (2017) and Hacker (2019) as well as  documentary biographies like Magnus (2016) and Bobbi Jene (2017).
