Original score from the 2022 comedy feature film directed by Thomas de Cock, starring Ben Segers, Maaike Cafmeyer and Jaak Van Assche, produced by René Vlaeyen Film Productions and released by Just Entertainmen (Belgium).

THE STORY: After a stroke, Frans Van As hands over his construction company to his granddaughter Linde and her husband Dick. As the main sponsor, they organize a local race in cyclocross, but a fire on the site the day before the race causes tension and misunderstandings.

THE SCORE: “It’s hard to describe how it feels like to write a score for your first feature film. It’s a blend of emotions going from honoured to have landed the task, to a state of panic which always comes quite unexpectedly with every new project. But pretty soon fear became excitement once the creative writing process unfolded. Challenges became opportunities… The result is an album with hints of folk and country, infused with western elements and some small tributes to the great French and Italian movie maestro’s.” – Joris Hermy

THE COMPOSER: Belgian composer Joris Hermy has worked for diverse popular television networks like VTM (Kzoom), VIER & RTL Telekids and a loyal base of respectable international clients like Stan Lee’s World of Heroes, Studio 100, Klomp! Animation, Audiocult, Brandy & Twice Entertainment to name a few. In recent years he scored multiple shorts, most notably the a Sundance audience-awarded short Avalon or the popular Marvel-based web series Bad Days, created by the legendary Stan Lee. His score for the TV series Gina & Chantal was released by MovieScore Media.
