Danish author best known for her autobiographical novel <em>Out of Africa<\/em>, and Thorkild Bj\u00f8rnvig, a young and promising poet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE SCORE: <\/strong>&#8220;<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was a great pleasure to compose the music for this very beautiful film directed by the great director, Bille August. He asked me to compose music that contained\u00a0 elements of shadow and magic at the same time dark, subtle and haunting by mixing orchestral acoustic elements and sound design. I worked on the musical textures to find these different colors, using the orchestra and synthetic sources. I used different musical motifs played by an alto flute, a harp and a bassoon which respond to the strings by a melodic back and forth movement. Some music is like waves in which an ambivalence is born linked to the narrative aspects of the film. The sensation is uncomfortable, charged by desire, manipulation and destiny. The soundtrack also includes an excerpt from Franz Schubert\u2019s Andantino from Piano Sonata No. 20 in A Major, D. 959, which is used in a key scene of the film.&#8221;<\/span> \u2013 <em><strong>Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Vercheval<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>THE COMPOSER: <\/strong>Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Vercheval is a Belgian musician and composer. He studied at the Jazz Studio, a music school of Antwerp, Belgium. Vercheval was nominated for the Magritte Award for Best Original Score five times for his work in <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diamant 13<\/span><\/em> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(2009), <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Krach <\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(2010), <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not My Type <\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(2014), <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Melody<\/span><\/em> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(2014) and Mothers&#8217; <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instinct<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2019).
