Original score from the 2026 crime drama feature film directed by Jake Allyn, starring Zach Braff, Esther McGregor and Abigail Spencer, produced by Margate House Films, WW SF Entertainment, Riverside Entertainment and Glasshouse Pictures, released by Vertical Entertainment (USA).

THE STORY: The inspirational true story of hero drug cop turned recovery advocate Kevin Simmers and his daughter Brooke – a cop and an addict who were also father and daughter.

THE SCORE: “Reading the script for the first time and knowing Clean Hands is a true story, I was deeply overwhelmed by the emotional weight of Kevin and Brooke Simmers’ journey. Their struggles and victories are heartbreaking with moments of beauty, and I wanted the score to sit in this. My idea was to keep the music minimal, slow, and focused, crafted around delicate moments with subtle notes of dissonance peppered throughout to reflect the underlying disconnect. Coming from a post-rock background and following many conversations with writer/director Jake Allyn, I challenged myself to keep loud, traditional rock instrumentation like guitars and drums at a distance, bringing them in only when the moment truly asks for it. Instead, the score sits on a more intimate piano, strings, and textures to blend together themes of family, love, and addiction, while moving through hopelessness and heartbreak, to hope and joy.” – MJ Callaghan

THE COMPOSER: Those Who Ride With Giants is the cinematic post-rock project of Australian composer, multi-instrumentalist, and visual artist MJ Callaghan. From quiet, intimate melodies to massive walls of sound, the music is written to feel like an open-ended journey. Operating entirely as a solo venture, MJ maintains a hands-on, creative approach to every stage, from writing and performance through to final production, while also designing the immersive artwork and videos that shape the project’s visual world.
