THE STORY: Modern, heartwarming tales where animals embark on enchanting journeys, from France to Japan via the Far North and its northern lights, to spread joy and generosity where the magic of Christmas knows no bounds.

THE SCORE: ““Capturing the spirit of Christmas through music was a challenge that excited me from the very beginning. Joy, sharing, childhood, and magic are all ideas and feelings that guided my writing, and I tried to play with humor and tenderness around the Christmas imagination. I focused my orchestration around a small group of instruments and recorded the voices of my own children to complete the whole. Another challenge was composing a single score for five different stories and as many interludes. The role of the music was therefore to unify these unique visual universes, to create a narrative and emotional arc on the entire movie. This silent animated film also allows the music to give a voice to the animals and to Nature, who are the true heroes of the film. This is also the purpose of the final song, Stars in the Night, for which I wrote the lyrics and music, a sort of ‘ode to joy’ that celebrates Mother Nature and the happiness of being together.” – Pablo Pico

THE COMPOSER: Pablo Pico is an award-winning composer, notably known for composing the music of numerous animated films. He has composed the original scores and songs for animated feature films such as Sirocco and the Kingdom of the Winds by Benoît Chieux, Marona’s Fantastic Tale by Anca Damian, Mum Is Pouring Rain by Hugo De Faucompret, Adama by Simon Rouby and more recently, Animal Tales of Christmas Magic. He has also composed the music for animated series such as the International Emmy Kids Awards winner The Treehouse Stories, Stinky Dog and The Upside Down River, as well as several documentaries and short films.
