THE STORY: Gary and Ell meet on a blind date only to wind up stealing a killer’s car along with a dead body and $40,000.

THE SCORE: “With All Night Wrong, I wanted the music to inhabit the emotional world of the film rather than simply accompany it. The score moves between tension, unease and more intimate, vulnerable moments, reflecting the characters’ shifting perspectives and the uncertainty that runs throughout the story. But because the film also has such a strong sense of humour, it was important that the music could embrace that side of the story too. At certain points, I deliberately made the score feel big, bold and fun, almost leaning into the ridiculousness of what is unfolding on screen. There’s something inherently funny about treating an absurd situation with the scale and intensity of a thriller score, and I wanted the music to play with that contrast rather than simply underscore the jokes. Those moments allowed the score to heighten the comedy while still belonging to the same tense musical world, hopefully capturing the film’s balance between genuine suspense and the sheer absurdity of its situations. Ultimately, the music became a way of moving between those two extremes—sometimes unsettling and immersive, sometimes playful and exaggerated – while always reflecting the emotional and tonal shifts of the story.” – Adiescar Chase

THE COMPOSER: Adiescar Chase has emerged as an exciting and distinctive composer and multi-instrumentalist working across a diverse range of projects, from television drama and film to video games and animation. Composing in a variety of contemporary musical styles, Adiescar brings a fresh and unique approach to her work. She has recently received a BAFTA Craft Awards nomination for Best Original Music: Fiction for her score to the Netflix series Heartstopper. Adiescar’s other recent projects include All Night Wrong, Waterloo Road, the return of the tv drama Bergerac and Falling. After graduating with a first class BMus (Hons) degree in composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2017, Adiescar went on to study for a Masters in Composition for Film and Television at the National Film & Television School graduating in early 2021.
