THE SCORE: The huge orchestral score Dodd has composed for the French-British adventure movie, Treasured Island (L’Île aux trésors), is only his second as a solo composer, following the acclaimed Renaissance which came out in 2006. This is an amazing roller-coaster ride of a score, filled with exciting action writing, grandiose themes (we’ve been humming the main theme ever since we heard it for the first time, and there is also a wonderful Barry-esque love theme in the score) and an abundance of big and complex orchestrations.

THE COMPOSER: Fans of David Arnold surely recognize the name of the composer of this spectacular swashbuckler score – Nicholas Dodd has orchestrated and conducted all of Arnold’s famous scores, including Stargate, Independence Day and all the four latest James Bond scores.
