Original score from the 2023 horror comedy television movie directed by Laura Murphy, starring Rob Riggle, Will Arnett and Jessica Lowe, produced by Artists First and Electric Avenue, released by Comedy Central/Paramount (USA).

THE STORY: Four friends wake on Halloween and realize the predict-your-future game they played in 2002 is coming true in disturbing ways. They must band together to help each other escape the wild fates that have turned their lives upside down.

THE SCORE: “It’s hard to express how much fun it was to create the score for Cursed Friends. Not only is the Comedy Central movie hilarious, starring some of my favorite comics, but what a joy to compose for the comedy-horror genre. The score is melodic, thematic, over-the-top with a huge orchestra, tongue-n-cheek, zany, silly, and ultimately quite heartfelt and sincere. The larger than life performances from such amazing comic personalities and supernatural situations allow the music to always go one step further. Among the many acknowledgements include wonderful orchestrations by Jeff Tinsley, huge sounding mixes by Satoshi Noguchi and Michael Bouska, music editing by Ryan Castle, delightful performances by the Budapest Scoring Orchestra and a featured woodwind ensemble, and the inspiring collaboration of director Laura Murphy.” – Corey Wallace

THE COMPOSER: Corey Wallace is an LA based film and television composer with over 15 years of experience and nearly 100 credits to his name. Recent projects include Jamie Winterstern’s storm-chasing, coming-of-age adventure film Supercell and the Comedy Central original comedy-horror Cursed Friends. Recent accolades include Best Original Score for Animated film at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards for Mime Your Manners, and Best Score at Grimmfest for the horror film Artik. Upcoming projects include the third collaboration with Dan Glaser on his Viking horror film Afterwalker, Patch Animation’s debut film ‘Stached, and a collaboration with Tyler Bates on a Blumhouse picture. Wallace has also contributed additional music to Blumhouse’s The First Purge, and he has worked on AMC’s The Walking Dead, TNT’s Snowpiercer, ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Apple TV+’s See, ABC’s Quantico, as well as the newest installment in the AAA game series Call of Duty: Vanguard. Wallace graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2008) and the University of Southern California’s prestigious Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television (SMPTV) program in 2009. He was honored as a participant in the 2010 ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop where he received the David Rose Scholarship.
