Original score from the 2022 crime drama television series directed by Simen Alsvik, starring Jonas Strand Gravli, Ida Elise Broch and Jan Gunnar Røise, produced by Nordisk Film Production and released by Viaplay and Canal Plus.

THE STORY: When a boy from a small town in Norway disappears, rumors arise that wolves are responsible, but a biologist discovers the bloody jacket in his father’s house and he soon disappears too, sparking a wave of investigations.

THE SCORE: “Crafting a film’s unique sound is the ultimate goal of any project. As a composer, I immerse myself in the world of the film, diving deep into scripts, seeking inspiration, and starting lengthy conversations with the artistic director to build a shared language of aesthetics and storytelling. For Fenris, I worked closely with Simen Alsvik, sharing musical preferences and discussing series details. Inspired by Americana and Nordic folk music, the soundtrack features banjo, guitar, Hardanger fiddle, hurdy-gurdy, cello, violin, and electronic elements. This music aims to capture the series’ raw, intimate, and gritty spirit, reflecting its characters, conflicts, and surrounding nature. I fondly refer to this blend as ‘Scandinaviana’. This series represents a new evolution in the Nordic noir genre, blending fragments of various folk music traditions from the Western hemisphere with the distinctive style of Nordic Noir.”

THE COMPOSER: Uno Helmersson is an award-winning Swedish composer and multi-instrumentalist whose credits include the worldwide hit TV series The Bridge, broadcast in more than 100 territories and for which he was awarded a Golden FIPA. Most recently, Uno scored Netflix hit series A Nearly Normal Family, documentaries Antidote and Ibelin, as well as the family adventure Nelly Rapp: The Dark Forest. Other credits include Flee, The Painter and the Thief and On the Inside of a Military Dictatorship. Uno is a featured MovieScore Media artist with several releases on the label: The Lion Woman, Magnus, On the President’s Order, Heartbound, Hacker, Bobbi Jene and the two Danish crime features The Keeper of Lost Causes and The Absent One, co-scored with Johan Söderqvist and Patrik Andrén.
