THE STORY: 15-year-old Oliver Tate has two objectives: To lose his virginity before his next birthday, and to extinguish the flame between his mother and an ex-lover who has resurfaced in her life.

THE SCORE: We released Hewitt’s briliant monochromatic score for Cuckoo a couple of months and decided to produce a digital EP of the Submarine score to make sure you don’t miss this little gem. The primary theme is an elegiac piece for strings and harp, richly scored and with a harmonic elegance that goes straight into the soul of the listener. Recorded at Air Studios, the score also features quirkier elements such as a theme for Hammond organ and a short fugatic piano interlude.

THE COMPOSER: Andrew is an orchestral, instrumental and electronic composer who scores out of his deep passion for cinema. From his LA home studio, Andrew creates music to express a project’s core, from full symphony orchestra and contemporary electronics to chamber groups, vocals and instrumental solos. Born in England, he studied and performed classical piano, singing and acting from childhood, graduating with a Masters in Music from Cambridge University and a full scholarship to London’s Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He performed globally in hundreds of classical concerts, tours, operas and soundtrack studio recordings, from Bach and Wagner, to the Star Wars Prequels and Lord of the Rings, conducted by John Williams and Howard Shore. Andrew was BAFTA Nominated for the Anthony Asquith Award for his first score, cult series Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, and has since scored 15 theatrical feature films, and TV that includes series, documentaries, commercials, docudramas, and movies. His film scores include psychological drama The Double, gothic drama We Have Always Lived In The Castle, thriller Villains, drama The Stanford Prison Experiment and romantic comedy Submarine.
