90 Minutes (Henrik Skram)

Original score from the 2012 drama feature film directed by Eva Sørhaug, starring Aksel Hennie, Pia Tjelta and Bjørn Floberg, produced by 4 1/2 Film and released by Euforia Film (Norway).

THE STORY: We get no explanations when we’re entering the last desperate minutes of three mens lives, all being violent to the women they love. We understand there’s a reason behind the three mens reactions. What lies behind?

THE SCORE: Beautifully crafted by newcomer Henrik Skram and performed with great sensibility by the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, the original score for Norwegian drama 90 Minutes is a mesmerizing listening experience where transparent writing for strings and melodic piano themes form the backbone of the soundtrack. “Johan’s Theme and Variations” features in five versions throughout the album and is in its most clean version a nostalgic and elegant waltz for piano, plucked strings and harp that has an instant appeal akin to that of the melodic writing of such filmmusic greats as Gabriel Yared and Zbigniew Preisner. MovieScore Media’s digital album also features a new recording of Puccini’s famous aria, ‘O Mio Babbino Caro’, featuring soprano Eszter Magyari.

THE COMPOSER: Norwegian composer Henrik Skram studied composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and at the Norwegian Academy of Music. His writing is characterized by clear themes that work outside their movies too.
