Curse of the Chippendales (Alexander Parsons)

Original score from the 2021 documentary TV series directed by Jesse Vile, produced by Lightbox, released by Discovery+ (USA) and Amazon Studios (UK).

THE STORY: Chronicles the dark side of the 1980s all-male striptease dance troupe.

THE SCORE: “The music had two overarching roles throughout the series. The first was to give an immediate sense of time and place, almost as if a jukebox were accompanying the narrative through the decades. Whether the themes were being performed by a live 13-piece RnB band in the 70s, or swapped for vintage synthesisers and drum machines in the 80s, I needed to authentically capture the sense of fun and adventure surrounding the club in it’s early years. Alongside these needle drops, it was important for me to capture the darker and more sinister arm of the story, representing The Curse.” – Alexander Parsons
