THE STORY: Two content creators’ adventure becomes a deadly game of survival, forcing them to navigate both nature’s dangers and their own rivalry.

THE SCORE: “Tu Yaa Main marks my Bollywood debut – and working with director Bejoy Nambiar, one of Indian cinema’s most experimental filmmakers, made it the right entry point. The score is a hybrid of analogue synths, creepy strings, brass, and percussion – rooted in the retro sci-fi sound of the ’70s and ’80s, but filtered through a modern electronic production language. Bejoy and I developed it in real time, often without a script, building the score even before seeing an edit. Genre films live and die by their score. I wanted that same level of intentionality here – specific string motifs for the creature, a creepy celeste figure, a four-note synth gesture, electronic percussive rhythms that make you feel something lurking just out of frame. Working predominantly in Los Angeles, I wanted to bring the weight and care that Hollywood films place on score. The music isn’t accompaniment – it’s sonic architecture.” – Prateek Rajagopal

THE COMPOSER: Prateek Rajagopal is a film composer, record producer, and artist whose work spans Hollywood, Bollywood, Tollywood, and immersive media. Prateek’s musical range runs from the most intimate emotional registers to the most ferocious. Prateek is sole executive and record producer on “BLARF: Film Scores for Films That Don’t Exist” – Emmy winning artist Eric Andre’s sophomore album, releasing via Stones Throw Records – a genre-defying collision of experimental music and cinematic ambition. His Hollywood credits include working on The Mandalorian, Trolls Band Together, and Creed III. He has since scored the Bollywood feature Tu Yaa Main, the upcoming Tollywood film Birthday, and worked alongside composer Bobby Krlic (The Haxan Cloak) on HIM, Eddington, Anemone, and Wrecking Crew. As Executive Music Producer and Composer at KOST AI, his score for the VR project Body of Mine earned a PGA Award, BAFTA, and Games for Change Award. Their follow-up, In the Current of Being, won SXSW and was showcased at Cannes and Tribeca. Prateek has writing and production credits alongside Ludwig Göransson and Justin Timberlake, and is the former chief composer and producer of GUTSLIT – India’s premier death metal export. He is based in Los Angeles.
