THE STORY: A relentless documentary filmmaker struggles to unravel the mystery of his uncle’s death, but an unknown enemy is intent on keeping the truth buried.

THE SCORE: “‘I want the score to give the film a modern noir feel and I want to use the song Silent Night in the movie‘. These were the two main focuses of Brad Podowski (director) when he came to me for the score of Silent as the Grave. Weaving these elements together, I crafted a suspense-filled, neo-noir electronic jazz score, drawing motifs from Silent Night to underscore the film’s central mystery. With a small, dedicated jazz ensemble, we managed to create a soundtrack that’s both intimate and explosive, adding a compelling layer of depth to the film.” – Raphaël Dargent

THE COMPOSER: Raphaël Dargent is a French composer based in Los Angeles. His compositions have received multiple awards and include soundtracks for the Cannes selected feature The Legend (2018), 2020 Oscar eligible short film Two (2019), Prime Video thriller Silent as the Grave (2023) and the feature The Actor (Apple TV, 2024). He had several scores released by MovieScore Media, including the French drama L’instant présent.
