GRAMMY NOMINEE FOR ‘BEST SCORE SOUNDTRACK FOR VISUAL MEDIA’
THE STORY: Two female journalists and a photographer travel to Europe to investigate a series of mysterious disappearances, only to find themselves embroiled in a struggle against a kind of evil they never expected.
THE SCORE: MovieScore Media has released seven albums by Ryan Shore, including the acclaimed Rex Steele: Nazi Smasher, Headspaceand Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer. Our first CD together on the Screamworks label features Shore’s second score for Jack Brooksdirector Jon Knautz,The Shrine. For this story about a group of young journalists who investigate a cult said to practice human sacrifice, the composer goes into ominous “under-your-skin” territory in a way akin to his effective music for The Girl Next Door. The eerie score also features some gothic pipe organ music and, as a special treat for our album, the composer has made a special variation arrangement of this thematic material! Our soundtrack release co-incides with the VOD and theatrical release of the film, distributed in the US by IFC Midnight.
THE COMPOSER: Ryan Shore is a three time Emmy® Award and Grammy® Award nominated composer, songwriter, music producer, music director, and conductor for film, television, virtual reality, games, records, concerts, live events, and theater. Shore’s 100+ scoring credits include the Lin-Manuel Miranda movie musical In The Heights (additional music), Star Wars: Forces of Destiny, The Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo, Love In The Villa, Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!, Love, Guaranteed, The Curse of Buckout Road, score and songs for Go! Go! Cory Carson, Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures, Julie’s Greenroom, Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery, score and songs for Penn Zero: Part Time Hero, SpyHunter, Prime, Harvard Man, Cabin Fever 2, and score and songs for Sesame Street. Shore was assistant music director and contributing composer, arranger and orchestrator for the 87th Academy Awards, where he worked with artists including Lady Gaga, John Legend, Adam Levine, Anna Kendrick, Common, Tim McGraw, Jack Black, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jennifer Hudson.
